How to Remap Your Windows Cut/Copy/Paste to OS X-like Controls and Vice-Versa. Matt Klein @howtogeek August 12, 2015. Or Windows to Mac is cut/copy/paste. On a Mac, this is accomplished using the “Command +” combination, while on Windows it’s done through “Control +”. Then that will double as the “Command” key on your Mac. To copy a file either select it in the Finder and press 'command+C', select 'Copy' from the Edit menu and then paste the file. Or you drag and drop while holding the 'option' button which both copies and pastes the file. There is no 'Cut' in Mac OS X except for when you cut text, its then 'command+X'.
(A) To copy and paste text that is not formatted the same way as the text in the Word for Mac document I am working in, I copy the text and then typically choose EditPaste Special., which opens a dialog box that usually presents me with choices. Is there a keyboard shortcut that would accomplish the same thing? A list of keyboard shortcuts on Microsoft's site said that the shortcut for 'Paste Special. ' is Control + Command + v.

That works, in that it pastes whatever I have copied and apparently does it as unformatted text, which is what I often choose myself when I use the menu command, but is there a keyboard command that opens the Paste Special dialog box so that I can choose for myself rather than just skipping right to the pasting? See if this Helps this is the Keyboard viewer for MacBook Pro Laptop: The keyboard view will be slightly different according to type Computer. The Fn key may be missing And there may be a Numeric KeyPad The Control, Option/Alternate, Command keys will always be where they are. As you can see: ^ = Control ⌥ = Option ⌘ = Command So for Paste Special is: ^⌥ - V See this Movie: I've never seen the second short cut. To match the formatting of the document you copied from just use standard ⌘-V If my reply has helped, mark accordingly - Helpful or Answer Phillip M. Jones, C.E.T.
