Keyboard Shortcut to Lock Cells in Excel (Mac Office) In Miscellaneous Tags keyboard, lock cells, mac office, shortcut, windows office Alvin Poh While using a Macbook for a period of time in 2013, I realised that there are some differences when using Mac Office and Windows Office.
Hello, Perhaps I haven't explained myself. I have set up a worksheet that my clients can use to enter data. The sheet contains many formulae that I don't want altered, so they sit behind cells which I have locked.

I have manually colour coded these yellow and coloured the unlocked cells green. Clients have been told to enter data in only green cells. My issue arises due to me making some modifications which has resulted in some cells becoming unlocked in error and others being locked also in error.

My question is, how can I see which cells are locked and which are unlocked when looking at the worksheet. I know I can find out by looking at each cell individually, but I was hoping Excel would have a way to see the setting en masse, or all at once. I know how to lock/unlock cells. I am surprised this is not a more popular request. Regards, Andrew. I tried your suggestion and it correctly coloured all the locked cells according to the number in the macro.
Presumably I now have to run a modified macro to undo the colouring? Whilst the solution does give me an answer of a sorts, I was really looking for a quick way to 'toggle' ON/OFF a way to show locked cells easily and not requiring the selection of cells (i.e. Either as CNTL+a or manually selecting) then firing off a macro. I now have the problem of un-colouring and re-locking the cells. It's OK, I used a copy of my file, so no harm done. I'm just surprised there's no easy way to do this via one of the many menus. Thanks for you help.
Regards, Andrew.
